Where it all began
In a nutshell…
Lily Pad Day Nursery began with a simple but powerful vision: to create a space where children feel as comfortable, supported, and loved as they do at home.
Our founder, Ben, has always had a passion for working with children. Growing up around his parents’ nurseries, he saw first hand the importance of nurturing environments in a child’s early years. This inspired him to train as a Primary School Teacher, where he gained valuable experience teaching Reception and Year One. It was during this time that Ben realised just how much of a difference a high-quality nursery experience can make, not only in a child’s learning, but in their confidence, wellbeing, and happiness.
With this insight and passion, Lily Pad was born.
From day one, Ben’s goal has been to build more than just a nursery. He wanted to create a space filled with warmth, care, and curiosity - a place where children are inspired to explore, learn, and grow with confidence. Supported by a dedicated team of experienced Practitioners, Lily Pad is all about developing happy hearts and curious minds.
Ben’s personal life continues to shape his vision for Lily Pad. As a proud dad he understands more than ever the hopes and expectations families have when choosing early years care.
Today, Lily Pad continues to be guided by that same vision: giving every child the best possible start, in a place that feels like home.
Our Practitioners
At Lily Pad Day Nursery, children are cared for in small groups by our dedicated and qualified Practitioners. Each member of our team receives ongoing training and professional development to keep our care and teaching at the highest standard.
Our activities are thoughtfully planned to cover all areas of early learning, and we deliver them in ways that are engaging, enjoyable, and truly effective - so every child learns through play, discovery, and fun.
