Our Ponds
The Butterflies
From 3 months to 20-24 months
In our Brilliant Butterflies, we have two dedicated rooms. One is for our youngest babies and the other for children confidently walking. The younger children’s room is quieter, with lots of tactile opportunities whilst the emerging walkers have more physical and messy play in their day.
Our skilled practitioners work with you to ensure we follow your baby’s routines to help make the transition between home and nursery as smooth as possible. There is a dedicated sleep area and through the Famly App you can keep updated on feeds, nappy changes, and sleep times.
The babies have their main meals together to help develop their social interactions. They also have their own garden with specific equipment so they can safely and securely enjoy fresh air along with the sights and sounds of the day.
In the Butterflies, your child will have all the things they need to develop their understanding about the world around them, build early friendships, and experience all the love and care they do at home.
The Frogs
From 20-24 months to 30-36 months
Moving to the Fantastic Frogs is where the serious exploration begins! This is a time of huge developmental change for your child and our practitioners are there to help support them every step of the way.
They will make lots of independent choices, from new friends to favourite areas to play in and explore. They will begin to learn about the how’s and why’s of the world and spend time developing their emerging independence; both individually and in small groups.
For a lot of our Frogs, a big part of this independence is toilet training. This is yet another opportunity for home and nursery to work together in order to get help get them confident and dry.
Our Fantastic Frog’s have their own dedicated outside garden which they can freely access if they wish. They also have use of the larger playground every day for more energetic activities.
You will be amazed how quickly your child develops their natural curiosity for the world around them and engages in all we offer at Lily Pad.
The Otters
From 30-36 months to Big School
The Awesome Otters are our teacher led Pre-School group. In this space your child will grow in every sense of the word. They will become more inquisitive, more daring and even more independent.
The Otters sessions reflect their growing abilities and we add extra structure to their day from our qualified teachers in order to help prepare them for big school. They take home a weekly book to share with you, to turn the pages and tell their own story through pictures and even recognise some familiar letters or words. We introduce and reinforce sounds and letters in fun and memorable ways. We develop number skills, counting, matching, and recognising numbers with a variety of games and activities.
Our unique approach to early learning combines the very best aspects of both teaching an care. Although more structured, the focus is still very much on active play, exploration and creative thinking.
Your child will have the freedom to move from inside to their own secure garden if they wish. They also make great use of the playground to have a good run around, take calculated risks, and create concoctions in the outside kitchen.
Group time for stories, singing, and sharing is an important part of their day. Your child will develop a strong sense of achievement through trying, learning and playing with others all in an environment that is designed to fully support their needs.
The Awesome Otters will leave Lily Pad fully prepared for their next exciting step… Big school!
